about

Recorded over 2 days in August '13 at Mill Studios in Alnwick, Northumberland, this catches BBB at his best - stripped back and raw, with a hint of Sun Studios slapback. Acoustic, electric, dobro, slide and cigar box guitars; footstompers and other foot percussion; gravelly vocals and sublime harmonies, this album ranges from solo performances through to full band songs - dirty blues, Americana and rock'n'roll to die for.

Got some money in my pocket, got some place I need to be

I’ve been down the southlands, that don’t do for me
Been out west, and that don’t set me free
I’m heading back to Blaydon town, there’s some folks I gotta see – that’s Johnnie Walker, Jim Beam and old Jackie D

E stops
You tellin me baby, I should do and I don’t
I’m tellin you honey, what I will and I won’t
A E
Can’t you see, things are changing round here
B A E
It’s four clock in the morning, and my motor’s in gear

Got my bread and my wallet, and my old guitar
Got my Fender Bassman in the back of my car
When I get to where I’m going, first stop is the local bar

I’ll say bartender, come down here
Yeah bartender, come down down here
I’ll have one bourbon, one scotch one one beer (thankyou Mr Toombs and Mr Hooker

You tellin me baby, I should do and I don’t
I’m tellin you honey, what I will and I won’t

Can’t you see, things are changing round here

Makers Mark on the dashboard, whisky sandwich in the back
